About Rising Hills

Welcome

We are not your typical church. Meeting in a school, setting up weekly, it might surprise you that Rising Hills is a not a building but a group of people, a family, from all walks of life who desire to love Jesus and love our community. We believe Jesus to be everything and enough. We invite you to come as you are, but don't stay as you are. Join our family and leave changed as you encounter this Jesus.

What to Expect

Our Vision

To see our lives, our church and our community come to encounter Christ.

Our Values

Biblically, we can find only one reason for the existence of the church: we exist to glorify God. But how do we glorify God? As an incorporated body of believers we glorify God by:

Grow

Growing in our faith. Our faith is developed by using it and by studying God’s Word.

Gather

Gather for fellowship and worship. The church gathers to worship God and fellowship with one another.

Go

Go into the world with the Gospel. Jesus commanded His followers to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). He also commanded us to “go into all the world and preach the Gospel to all creatures” (Mark 16:15). The church scatters to share the Gospel with the whole world, beginning where we are in Cherokee County, Georgia.

Give

Give ourselves in service to others. Following Jesus as Lord means giving ourselves away in service to others.

What We Believe

There is one God who has chosen to reveal Himself in three distinct Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is God’s Son and is therefore divine. He came into the world to save sinners. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross as the payment for our sins, and rose the third day. He lives as Lord and Savior. He is one day coming back to judge.

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead who indwells every believer.

Scripture is God’s holy, infallible, inerrant Word.

Man was originally created in God’s image. Man chose to rebel against God, resulting in spiritual death and separation.

Spiritually man is made alive and right with God through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.

The church is the physical expression of Christ’s body on this earth.

Jesus left the church with two sacraments to observe until He returns: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

One day Jesus is going to return to this earth and establish His kingdom here.

In the meantime our duty is to carry the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
